Productivity tools from Google

If you have your own domain name, for example,  Google has a very simple and inexpensive solution to use with your new domain name, so you can set up emails, documents, spreadsheets, just like you would with your free Gmail Account.

Google Apps for Work is a productivity suite that can help your business connect and get work done on any device from anywhere. These tools have functional capabilities that are similar to traditional office suite software programs like Microsoft office. Some of the many apps include Gmail, Google Calendar, Hangouts, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Sites. The difference between Google Apps and traditional office suites is that Google Apps work in the cloud. Cloud computing enables businesses to work mobile. All that is needed is an internet connection.

Here’s some great things about Google Apps:

Better email management – If you use Outlook or Outlook Express you know how tricky it can be to dig through all your emails trying to work what’s going on with a particular project. With the Google Apps group message feature, you can turn email messages into conversation threads where all the messages relate to one another. Much easier to keep organised.

Integrated scheduling – Google Calendar for Work enables you to create individual calendars for everyone on your team, and synchronize their schedules. You can also create calendars for resources like meeting rooms and equipment. Google Calendar also enables you to invite people to events and appointments, and share calendars between staff and others if you wish.

Better document collaboration – With Google Docs everyone on your team can edit the same document from any device, anywhere, in real time. The changes are instantaneous for everyone to see.

Unlimited mobility – With Google Apps for Work you can synchronize your calendar and email with your smartphone or tablet and work from anywhere on the planet. All your documents can be edited and viewed from your phone, tablet or laptop anywhere. No more thumb drives or memory sticks to deal with.

Centralize project data and documents – With Google Sites you can create secure web pages that you can use as intranets for team projects. You can also create a traditional website that you can take live when you create a domain name and arrange for web hosting.
